CAMAT, Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment, University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL (Outpatient)
The CAMAT program offers weekly individual psychotherapy sessions as part of research studies and on a fee-for-service basis. These sessions typically occur one time per week for 45 to 60 minutes.
They also offer group treatment as part of their research on youth with an emotional disorder, including any fear, anxiety, OCD or depression-related concern. Treatments are offered in small groups with several clinicians, and meet weekly or bi-weekly for about 10-15 sessions. Cognitive behavioral treatment is provided in a fun, creative, environment and includes parent involvement over the course of therapy. Groups typically begin in September and February.
They also offer on a case by case basis, an intensive treatment options for particular conditions including Specific Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Panic Disorder. Intensive Treatment typically means the client participates in multiple sessions per day, for several days in a row, depending on the type of presenting problem. Such services may be an appropriate option for individuals who do not have access to weekly cognitive behavioral treatments in their hometowns, or for individuals who seek a more rapid resolution of symptoms. Intensive treatments are typically offered to adolescents.
